Emily Nichols
President
Emily purchased her first (and she says last) home in East Falls in August of 2008. Having lived in multiple Philadelphia neighborhoods, many cities, states, and a couple countries, Emily has been a devout Philadelphian since 1998. She joined EFCC in 2011 and served on the Zoning Committee. In 2015, she joined the Executive Committee as a Member at -large and was elected President of EFCC in October of 2020. Emily is on the board of the East Falls Development Corporation and an active member of East Falls Presbyterian Church. Emily’s professional career spans 20+ years in tourism, hospitality and events, including working on high profile events for countless pop stars, a few Presidents, and one Pope
Hilary Langer
Vice President & Zoning Chair
Hilary has chaired the Zoning Committee since October 2020. He moved to the neighborhood in 1982 and brought up 3 daughters who collectively have attended KenCrest Daycare, Mifflin, Central High Schools & The Widener School. He is an architect who has designed and built diverse projects ranging from commercial retail and housing developments, NFL stadiums, and recently vaccine research & development laboratories. A member of Vesper Boat Club since 1980, serving as its President from 1994-98 and current board member, he is an advocate for access and enjoyment of the Schuylkill River and its protection.
Nick Taylor
Event Chair/Second Vice-President
Nick is the newly appointed Event Chair & Second Vice President of the East Falls Community Council. An East Falls resident for five years, Nick specializes in designing and executing perfectly flowing events of all sizes. His background is rooted in elite hospitality, highlighted by training at the Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia, sailing with the Gateway Clipper Fleet, and a successful career in luxury spa management. These days he is deeply invested in community care and stewardship of place, Nick currently volunteers with Philabundance, Face to Face Germantown, State Representative Tarik Khan’s district office, Philadelphia Tenants Union, One PA, POWER Interfaith, Renters United / Inquilinxs en la Lucha Philadelphia(RUP), Northwest Neighborhood Immigration Network (N-WIN) He is thrilled to channel his professional hospitality standards and unwavering community organizational skills into creating memorable events that continue to bring East Falls neighbors together as the Events Committee has for over 50 years!
Peicha Chang
Treasurer
Peicha has lived in East Falls with her husband, Mark, since 2008. Both of her daughters attend Thomas Mifflin School. She is the founder and former owner of Vault + Vine on Midvale Ave. Currently, she serves as treasurer for the EFCC, Friends of Mifflin, and East Falls Village. She has formerly served on the board of the EFDC & Sustainable Business Network. You can often find her at the Falls of Schuylkill Library enjoying the after school crowd.
Lisa Monaco
Communications Chair/Recoding Secretary
A proud native of the Jersey shore, Lisa came from a large family who she enjoys going 'home' to visit. She is a Rutgers graduate who has made the Philadelphia area her home for the last 27 years. She and her husband raised a family in Havertown until the empty nest bug bit them and they moved into Philadelphia to enjoy the faster pace of the city and some breathtaking views from East Falls. She is so excited to join the Executive Board of the EFCC as she has enjoyed living here so much! She loves the beauty and walkability of the town and the kindness of the residents. Lisa's years as a realtor have been the most fulfilling for her as they have combined a history of selling (years at AT&T Commercial Markets and as a Jockey Team Leader), creativity (another six years running her own furniture refinishing business), and a talent for turning strangers into friends.
